Job description

To assist the Head of Accounting & Reconciliation and the Head of Financial Reporting in the daily operations of the Finance department.

Should be able to contribute to the extraction and submission of regulatory reports and in the preparation of management accounts, as well as, able to assist in the accounting, reconciliation and payment operations of the department, ensuring proper bookkeeping and continuous monitoring of accounting records.

General Requirements

  • Assisting in the extraction and submission of reports to regulators and the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Contributing in the annual process of budget preparation, providing analyses of historic financial information
  • Assist in inputting, processing and adjusting, where required, accounting entries in a timely and accurate manner
  • Performing general ledger control and reconciliation processes, ensuring prompt bookkeeping of all accounting records
  • Contributing in the preparation of End of Day reports, including liquidity management, cashflow and concentration reports
  • Performing daily reconciliation of bank accounts and resolving any inconsistencies identified
  • Preparing daily analyses on client funds and exposure calculations, credit risk and cash utilisation
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register and reviewing the monthly calculation of depreciation/amortisation
  • Performing month-end closure activities including processes related to prepayments and expenses outstanding
  • Assist in processing the monthly payroll and related activities (e.g. payment of Social Insurance contributions, payment of PAYE and GHS, etc) including the review of all relevant reports, identifying inconsistencies and cooperating with the HR department for resolution
  • Executing payments to vendors and ensuring adequate record keeping
  • Keeping abreast with key developments and trends related to the role (e.g. IFRS requirements, taxation amendments)
  • Keeping up to date with upgrades made to systems and equipment used for executing duties and responsibilities (e.g. SUN, Tableau)

Compliance

  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies, practices and procedures
  • Ensuring the timely reporting of any discrepancies/cases of non-compliance to the appropriate authority within the organisation


Job requirements

• University Degree in Finance or any other related discipline

• Holder of a Professional Accounting Qualification such as Chartered Accountant (ACA) / Certified Accountant (ACCA) / Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is considered an advantage

• At least 3 years of related experience

KNOWLEDGE

• Knowledge of the Greek and English languages, both verbal and written

• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and tax requirements

• Knowledge of relevant regulatory reporting requirements

• Knowledge of SUN and Tableau software would be considered an advantage
