The Role:

Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Reporting to: Infrastructure Team Lead

Key tasks & responsibilities:

About You:

As an infrastructure engineer, you will have the opportunity to provide both Project and BAU support on the company infrastructure located on premise, in data centres and cloud environments. You will report to the Infrastructure team lead and work with the Head of IT Operations to achieve the long-term strategic goals of the company whilst supporting and maintaining a robust and stable estate.

You will be able to provide a high level of consultancy and support across a broad range technologies such as VMWare, HP, Dell, Microsoft 365 services and Microsoft Windows and Linux Servers as well as AWS Cloud infrastructure.

Working within the infrastructure team the Infrastructure Engineer will monitor, support and maintain the existing systems whilst delivering transformational projects to advance the company.

The role will be an 80/20 split of project work to BAU and will require problem identification, diagnosis and resolution across both work-streams. You are a motivated, intuitive and competent person with a keen interest in expanding and developing your technical knowledge, by working in a fast-paced trading company.

You are likely to have been responsible for managing a similar type of environment supporting and furthering the architecture and design and ideally have had previous experience of working with either Amazon AWS. You also have experience of working with Agile methodologies.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and would demonstrate competent skills and knowledge in compute, storage, virtualisation, Windows Server and Linux Estate management. Additional preferable skills in AWS Cloud and scripting skills would be ideal. At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role.

Job requirements

Key Tech Skills:-

-Microsoft Windows IT Infrastructure Systems Configuration, Maintenance and Support.

-Linux Systems Configuration, Maintenance and Support (Debian preferred).

-Competent to good scripting skills (Bash, Powershell, Terraform, Python (Desirable))

-MS Enterprise System Configuration Experience (Active Directory Setup, Azure Setup , Sharepoint Setup)Must have experience in setup not just maintenance.

-IT Networking - TCP/IP, DNS, ICMP, NAPT, VPN, IP Whitelisting, Basic FW policy management.
-IT Security
-AWS Cloud Infrastructure


Experience in monitoring solutions – Solarwinds Orion, CheckMK, Grafana.

Advanced AWS Cli and Terraform experience.

FW Policy management, preferably Palo Alto.

Experience AWS Network fundamentals

Previous experience of working with VPNs.
